Parasailing Key West “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.”

There were at least a thousand reasons why we SHOULDN’T do this around the world journey, but these eight words from Helen Keller convinced us that we SHOULD.
Cheryl’s entry. I just left my job of 16 years to prepare for this adventure!  Tampa will be where it all starts.  We are just planning right now – although we are trying not to plan it too much.  I want the experience to be great without so many pre-conceived notions of the wheres and whens! We will start in Europe for about 3 months.  Then will head to Mexico, Africa, and Seychelles for some volunteer work with GVI (Global Vision International).  Any others out there who have worked with GVI?  I would love to hear your experiences!

Certainly more to come shortly!Live Life Large!!

Lisa here!  Sunday was quite a day — Cheryl took her first flying lesson in Tampa. A crystal blue sky absorbed her tiny Cessna as it pulled upward with a engine sounding more like a lawn mower than something capable of defying gravity!

We met with the realtors to put the house up for sale – yep, it’s real now. Tomorrow the sign goes up.

I woke up from a dream so real my heart was still pounding — I was in a roller coaster car looking straight down to a 90 degree drop — amazingly similar to Shekra at Busch Gardens, I realized on later reflection. I was looking down and talking about everything EXCEPT the eminent stomach-losing drop to come. Finally, the wheels released and I was screaming at the top of my lungs. Dropping. Dropping. Dropping. Cheryl was grinning beside me with her hands high in the air. I was white-knuckled to the car. Things were flashing by…the house, my cats, my backpack, everything. It never seemed to stop. I don’t remember the end of the dream, except that all the time I was dropping, I was thinking to myself – I WANT TO DO IT AGAIN!

The wheels have begun turning and I can’t wait to get started!
